McKenzie and Flynn Ltd continue to carry out traditional natural
slating works on a wide variety of private,
commercial
and industrial properties of many styles and designs. |
The choices of natural slates available in the UK are many and
varied. UK slate quarries continue to produce
some of
the world's finest quality slates available today - from Cornwall, through Wales to Cumbria in the Northwest of England. Sadly the Scottish quarries are no longer in production but talk in the trade frequently turns to the possibility of the Ballachulish Slate Quarry, south of Fort William, re-opening. If only!! |
On existing roofs it is usually possible to matching slate size, texture and
colour due to the buoyant
market in
quality
second hand slates being made available from demolitions, etc. McKenzie and Flynn are also justifiably proud of their connections in sourcing the rarer slates such as Caithness, Carmylie, etc. |
On a global scale, natural slates are available from countries
all over the world including France, Spain,
Portugal, the
USA, Canada, South Africa and China, to name but a few. Whilst the final decision of what type of slate used may lie, ultimately, with the Planning Authorities, we are confident that regardless of the slate type, quantity or the method by which they may be fixed, we can accommodate the most exacting specification. |
McKenzie and Flynn Ltd are proud that we
enjoy the confidence of some of the
largest
producers and distributors of slates in the UK. The list below should not be considered exhaustive since we continue to develop good working relationship with new suppliers as they, and we, develop. |
